Raising Hope: Fighting Lupus @Calamba Medical Center
On August 16, Calamba Medical Center, in collaboration with the Raising Hope for Lupus, a patient support group for lupus held a celebration of life with the theme “Raising Hope, Fighting Lupus.”
Highlights included a lecture by our very own Rheumatologist, Dr. Anna Regina Banatin who talked about the do’s and don’ts of lupus patients, an uplifting message from our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rhodora Ocampo, highlighting the hospital’s unwavering support for the group and heartfelt testimonies from two lupus warriors. Also in attendance are representatives of the LGU.
The day was filled with joy and celebration. There were lots of raffle prizes (many thanks to generous sponsors) with a special dance number from all of the attendees. The 1st Ms. Butterfly of Hope pageant was also held with Ms. Shanen Magno declared as the winner. The pageant honors the strength and beauty of people living with lupus.
Together we will continue to build compassionate communities for the care of our chronically ill patients.
